Theme Thursday -Classroom Themes

So let's talk classroom themes. Do you have a theme in your classroom? Is it an all out theme or more of a color scheme? I am more of a color scheme person but have had an ocean/tropical vibe to my TK room in the past. This year I am going to explore many themes that go with "Grow" because transitional kindergarten is all about giving young 5 year olds time to grow and be ready for the rigor of regular kindergarten. I found the PERFECT base theme for my room with this theme.

I LOVE that it will go well with my rug from Lakeshore and that there are a TON of editable files. I was able to make name tags for Open House in no time! Perfect Font settings for this was KG Primary Penmanship Lines at 160. Just type something then press CTR E to edit font settings on any of the editable PDF's in the set. So cool!

I am planning to start and end the year off with the super cute bugs and work in other animals and plants throughout the year. With the way this theme is set up I think it will be easy to go from buggy to farm land to garden to even under the sea :) Be sure to click on the first picture to see more of this cute kit and check out the other awesome themes and color schemes Melanie has. Which is your favorite? Where is your go to place for classroom themes?

  1. The teachers at my school don't do themes. I used too, but it got costly and hard because of all the state standards stuff we had to have on our walls. I wanted to do a farm theme this last year, but couldn't find borders or anything to make it happen. I'll be teaching Transitional Kinder this coming year and I'm at a lost on how to even set up my classroom. Do you any ideas? I see you teach TK in California, and there isn't much out there. Every thing is about Pre-K or Kinder. Is TK really a Pre-K class???
